What Projects Would Ballot Measure 33-111 Fund?
If passed, the bond would:
1) Renovate Career & Technical Education Program Facilities
Expanding workforce education spaces to enhance current career and technical education programs.
2) Enhance Safety of Students & Staff
Improving safety and security at both The Dalles and Hood River campuses, including:
- Security cameras
- Automatic door-locking systems
- Seismic upgrades
3) Modernize Classrooms & Labs to Support Education & Workforce Training
Renovating and modernizing learning spaces to provide hybrid and distance learning to serve users across Wasco and Hood River counties, both urban and rural.
4) Update Aging College Facilities
Updating and improving aging facilities, including energy efficiency upgrades, replacing central heating and cooling, technology upgrades, and increased ADA accessibility to provide equal access to public buildings.
PROPOSED UPGRADES TO THE DALLES CAMPUS
The bond would fund updating classrooms, labs, and buildings that provide:
- Hybrid learning opportunities
- Specialized job training, apprenticeship, and education programs and
- Expanded commercial kitchen facilities to create teaching and startup business partnership opportunities
PROPOSED UPDATES TO THE HOOD RIVER CAMPUS
The bond would fund educational (science and health) programs and community gathering spaces, including:
- Modernizing and expanding the health & sciences labs
- Renovating building systems to accommodate current and future usage levels
- Adding automatic door locking systems, security cameras, and
- Redesigning interior and exterior spaces to offer more community use options
